Food Innovation Wales helps put Welsh produce on the world stage

Food Innovation Wales has launched Wales’ first comprehensive digital food and drink producers’ directory.

The directory, which contains entries from over 430 companies, has been created to raise awareness and drive sales of Welsh products both nationally and internationally.  Both small and large companies are featured in the directory which has been produced on behalf of Food and Drink Wales and will be used on trade development visits and exhibitions around the world. Users can search for a producer based on location, product category, supply channel and certification held.

Speaking about the launch of the food and drink producers’ directory, Professor David Lloyd, Director of the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre and Vice Chairman of the Wales Food and Drink Industry Board, said:

“We want Welsh food and drink companies to be celebrated on the world stage. This directory will help raise the profile of innovative Welsh food and drink products both locally, nationally and internationally.”

Food Innovation Wales, backed by Welsh Government, brings together three food centres of excellence dedicated to encouraging the development of the Welsh food sector and providing technical and operational support on all aspects of food manufacturing. Food Innovation Wales is currently undertaking Project HELIX, a £21 million programme funded through the EU’s Rural Development Programme to strengthen Wales’ food and drink sector.
