The law requires that all food handlers need to be trained according to their food handling work activities.  Furthermore, those individuals that have successfully completed a food hygiene course will have the confidence and expertise to deliver quality food safely to customers. 

Food safety qualifications are intended for anyone working in catering, hospitality or manufacturing settings where food hygiene is essential as food is prepared, cooked, served or produced. Typical environments may include pubs, hotels, restaurants, retail, factories, contract catering, fast-food outlets, hospitals, care and nursing homes, schools, prisons and the armed forces.

Food Centre Wales delivers food safety, HACCP and practical training courses at the centre or at your own facilities for groups.   Our experienced Food Technologists specialise in conducting a skills gap-analysis and develop training plans to deliver training that is specific to your staff and business needs.  They can deliver in-house bespoke courses to meet HACCP directives to the meat, dairy and catering sectors.  Basic meat and dairy skills can be studied and practically applied in our meat and dairy processing areas or at your own processing facility.

A 3-day course aimed at food handling supervisors within the food and catering / manufacturing industries.  This course is ideal for Managers and supervisors in medium and large manufacturing or catering businesses.

This qualification is to support a role in the workplace and give learners personal growth and engagement in learning. The qualification is designed for learners, who are at, or wish to progress to, a higher or supervisory level within a food catering business.

This qualification is aimed at those responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of HACCP systems in a food manufacturing environment.  The objective of the qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge necessary to be an integral part of a HACCP team in manufacturing and other related industries, for example those involved in distribution and storage. The qualification is aimed at learners who are already working in food manufacturing with knowledge of food hazards and controls.
